The Secret

Pass on some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered.

Have you read or heard of The Secret?  While literally tons of great advice has been given to me throughout my life, the advice that I obtained from reading this book is the first that came to mind. I don't know that it's the most important or useful advice, but it's something that I think about on a daily basis.

To enlighten those of you who haven't read the book, the premise of it revolves around the idea of being positive and always thinking good thoughts. It teaches you to envision your life and think about it as you want it to be. In turn, you will attract these things to you through the law of attraction.  It sounds a little bit (or a lot) bonkers when I explain it here, and I thought it was too, but if you read the book, you'll get it. Promise.

While I don't have a vision board for my life and don't follow everything the book lays out for you, the key piece of advice I took away from it is to BE POSITIVE, and I make an attempt to do this every day.  I take the approach that my attitude and outlook on life will eventually become my reality. I don't know about you, but I want my reality to be a pleasant one, so I try to keep my thoughts positive.  Of course, I'm realistic too, and I know that life isn't always a bowl full of cherries.  But overall, if we greet life with the positivity that we want to receive back from it, there's a pretty good chance it will happen. Here's to positivity!

Has anyone else read The Secret? Thoughts?

I have not read the Secret but the advice sounds good. It is hard to be positive everyday but it is a good thing to work towards, I suppose. I came here from the Challenge.

I haven't ever read The Secret but it has always been one of those books I've thought about reading. Guess that means I should probably do it, huh? lol.

Growing up my grandmother always called me a pessimist because she thought I was too negative. Looking back, knowing what I know now, I understand why she believed that but I consider myself a realist. I'm not a negative person, I'm quite a positive one actually, I just always look at the worst case scenario in things I do or things that happen. Weighing the pros and cons if you will.

Love this little reminder to look on the bright side. It can't hurt!
