Green Smoothie Recipe

I drink one of these bad boys everyday for breakfast. Not only is it a healthy, tasty and quick on-the-go meal, but it's also a great way to get your greens plus tons of other vitamins and nutrients. Before I give you the recipe I have to give credit to one of my awesome Pure Barre instructors, Nicole, for inspiring this recipe! She gave me the original recipe a while back, and I've made a few adjustments of my own along the way.

Ingredients:
2 cups of Spinach
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
2 tbs. peanut butter or sunbutter
1 small banana or 1/2 - 3/4 large banana
4-5 strawberries
1 scoop Green SuperFood (not pictured)
1 tbs. flaxseed
2 cups ice

Directions:
Mix together spinach and almond milk in a blender. Once mixed, add in all other ingredients except for the ice and blend. After these ingredients are blended, add in the ice and blend again.  Enjoy! :)

Depending on what I have on hand, I usually add in a few blueberries and/or blackberries as well.  Also, the Green SuperFood can be found at Whole Foods, but I would recommend ordering it from Amazon to keep the cost down.

I hope you all love this green smoothie as much as I do!

I love green smoothies! I had one last night for dinner, but I added a few roasted beets. Don't know what I was thinking. It turned the nastiest brown color. Tasted okay. Not great. I still drank it. So word to the wise. Beets don't mix well in green monsters. ha.

Ah! These smoothie recipes make me sad. I can't eat any form of nuts so I have to modify almost all recipes. Looks great though.

I'm a big smoothie and juice fan as well. This make up is super similar to the ones we whip up regularly. It's nice to see that you're into sunflower butter, too!

I've never tried a green powder before and have been looking for a good one to start with. How do you like yours? Any weird aftertaste effect?

Love that you posted this - I always add Green SuperFood or just plain Wheatgrass to all of my smoothies. It is SO good for us (inside and out!)
Have a great weekend Morgan xo

This is a delicious fruit drink. I didn’t use milk at all, instead I used water. It is so nutritious.
