Finding THE Dress

I'm heading home today to take care of some wedding planning and more importantly... go dress shopping!! The big shopping day is Friday, and I.am.stoked.

{via}
I have done some research to gather some tips for this day. Here's what I have so far:

  • Don't bring too many people with you. You don't want too many opinions.
  • Trust your instincts. No one should have to convince you that the dress looks great on you. If you don't feel amazing in it, don't get it.
  • Be open-minded. Don't eliminate a certain style of dress before trying it on.
  • Do not wear a thong, and do shave your legs.  A stylist at the salon will be helping you get it and out of the dresses. This requires no further explanation.
So now I turn to you, my lovely friends. I know many of you have been through this process before, so what tips, do's, and don'ts do you have for me? I'm anxious to hear, and even more anxious to share the final dress pick with you! It will be at least 10 months from now, but I promise to share it when I can :)

Yay! I'm so happy for you..Finding the dress was one of my favorites parts of planning so far - ok, it was absolutely my favorite, haha. You have all great advice already! Definitely be open minded and try on all sorts of things, you might get confused, but it will help in the end! I tried on lots that I loved that were very different from what I had imagined, but in the end, I went with exactly what I always pictured, but that's just me...Good luck!!! You will be stunning in anything!

I miss dress shopping, definitely the most fun part of wedding planning! Tips: make sure you can move around and sit down in the dress you like, and take lots of pictures (if the place allows). Have fun :)

I am here for you! As a pervious wedding dress consultant I have the list of Do's & Don'ts.

* The thong thing not a huge deal cause you'll be wearing a slip to give shape to your dress depending on the style.
* Please shave legs AND armpits... you'll be surprised by how many forget this, and D.O. the dresses are hot and a lot of people forget that too. I know you won't!
* start with 3 dresses at a time to keep you from getting confused.
* Vote a dress out after each try on. If there's one you like more than the other, then you don't love that dress the most.
* Be open to styles and colors you'll be wildly surprised by dresses.
* Don't let your group harrass the consultant and pull a ton of dresses, those dresses are big and confusing when a bunch are grouped together.
*Make sure you are comfortable in the dress ie: standing, eating, moving, sitting.
* Give long veils a chance, they're amazing!

I hope you have a blast! and that you're consultant is fun that makes a huge difference!!!!

Do wear a strapless bra and if possible the bra you will be wearing and bring heels or the heels you will be wearing. I definitely agree to be open minded.. I wanted an a-line semi poofy... Didn't like any I tried and ended up with a sweetheart neck, mermaid dress

Morgan, hope you had fun on friday! I definitely didn't find my dress the first or second time I went looking. Like me, you might find THE dress and say, "This is the dress!.. I think." You're going to second guess yourself bc it's such a big but exciting decision! I went back a week later, put it on again, and absolutely 100% knew it was the dress! Enjoy it, you will look fab in all of them, but one will feel perfect! Good hunting!! -Andrea DeCamps

That is so exciting! I think I picked the 2nd or 3rd dress that I tried on. I only went to one place. Just go with your instincts, I would say.
