Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from Miss Piggy and Kermit!

I'm also guest posting over at Join the Gossip! Be sure to check it out!

Busy Bee = Bad Blogger

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been busy. Busy busy busy. This should help to explain my lack of posting last week and my absence from the blog world in general lately. I am fully aware that I haven't been the best about reading all of your posts and commenting as much, and for that I apologize. Between working my Monday-Friday 9-5 job, starting up my photography business (and taking A LOT of pictures), and attempting to maintain my relationships with my boyfriend, family, and friends, I haven't had all that much time to blog.  And I'm not one to throw up a post with some Pinterest pins just for the sake of saying, "I blogged!".

So, while I figure out how to juggle working two jobs and having successful relationships, I probably won't be posting as much. I'm not disappearing, but expect something closer to 3 posts a week instead of a solid 5.

To those of you who do successfully juggle the thousands of things going on in your lives and find time to blog, I commend you and am slightly jealous of you.

And since we all like a little something for the eye in our blog posts, pictured below is what I've been up to lately...

First of all, launching a website!

You can see the whole website at www.morganleephotography.com.

And then I've obviously been taking lots of pictures for and because of said website...

Sooo, that is what I've been up to. I hope you'll forgive me for my absence and know that it's not you, it's me. Seriously :)

Also, to see additional photos from any of the above sessions, go to my Facebook page {here}.

The Weekend

First of all I would like to apologize for the radio silence for the larger part of last week. I have been SUPER busy, but more on that another time. Now... on to the weekend!

When I arrived home from work on Friday, I was greeted by these lovely Halloween paper straws! That certainly put a smile on my face.  I spent the rest of the night eating pizza, editing photos, enjoying a Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat and watching Lifetime movies. Needless to say, the bf was out of town.

Saturday began with some organization and a hair appointment and ended with a photo session, a bowl of ice cream, maybe another Lifetime movie or two, and picking the bf up from the airport.

My Sunday began earlier than usual with an engagement session.  I have really come to enjoy these quiet mornings.  You never see the city as empty as you do at 7 am on a Saturday or Sunday. It's so peaceful and beautiful. The rest of my Sunday involved a second photo session and a trip to the costume store. I can't wait to show you all my costume!

I'm linking up with Leeann, Dana, and Sami for the Weekend Update!

Have a lovely Monday!

Etsy Halloween Decor Finds

Halloween is two weeks from tomorrow. In true Morgan fashion, I still have not decided on a costume. Yes, I may be all of 26 years of age, but I still dress up.  The bf has turned down both Don & Betty Draper (yes, I know they're divorced) and Toy Story 3 Barbie and Ken. I'm out of ideas, so if you have any extras lying around, send them my way.

One thing I am getting prepared for is our upcoming Halloween party! I've been on the hunt for some unique decor, and what better place to look than Etsy?  Here are some of my favorite finds so far.

serving dish / banner / cupcake topper / straws
You better believe those straws are already en route to mi casa, and the cupcake toppers will be in the near future.  And I would just love to have a festive banner to hang across the mantel, but choosing just one is a lot harder than I expected it to be! Perhaps I need a home with more than one mantel? ha ;)

What are your favorite ways to decorate for Halloween?

The Weekend: Non-Monumental Edition

Well hello, blog world and hello, Monday! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty low-key. Nothing monumental happened. But I did take pictures of all of the non-monumental events so I could fill you in on all of the non-monumentalness. You're welcome.

Friday night started off with a new crockpot pizza recipe (yum) and ended with a cup or two of spiked hot cider.  Saturday morning I enjoyed the beautiful view above while walking to Copley Square to meet Sara for our photo session!

We started off our session in Copley Square (photo on left). It's so rare (and awesome) to see it without masses of people in it so I had to take a picture.  I spent the majority of the remainder of my Saturday editing lots and lots and lots of photos. It was much needed, and it feels great to be caught up!

On Sunday I enjoyed both a s'more and chili. You probably want to raid my kitchen right about meow and that's completely understandable.  I also had a photo session on Sunday evening with an adorable little girl and her parents! The photos from both sessions will be up on my photography Facebook page later this week, so be sure to take a peek.

So there's all my non-monumentalness. I hope you enjoyed it. Check out these lovely ladies below for more Weekend Update posts!

Have a great Monday!

Friday's Fancies: Leaf Love

Happy Friday, friends! I'm back for another installment of Friday's Fancies. This week's theme was Leaf Love. It's certainly feeling like Fall, so I'm all about this.

Instead of hunting down a sweater with a leaf on it, I decided to go with a leaf color pallete. And then for the actual leaf part, I added in some fun accessories. And why is the lipstick listed under the leafy accessories section? Because the shade's name is Autumn Leaves! How fitting, right?! And the bag really has no reason for fitting in with the theme other than the fact that it's awesome. And that has to count for something, right?

For more leaf lovin' check out {long distance loving}! Have a great weekend!

Little Lyle

I literally could not stop smiling while working on these pictures. Isn't this little guy just the cutest?!

Portraits: Juliana

For Juliana's session we went to Post Office Square which was brand new to me.  It turns out there are a lot of great places for photos though! Here's a peek at a few of her photos, and there are more on my photography Facebook page as well.

The Weekend: Apple Edition

Happy Monday and happy Columbus Day! For those of you who have today off, your weekend isn't quite over, but mine is so you're getting my weekend update today. Lucky you!

If you couldn't tell from the picture above, the bf and I went to Smolak Farms on Saturday morning.  I'm pretty sure we were the only people above the age of 7 poking our heads through the pumpkins for a photo op. Besides doing really awesome things like this, we also went apple crazy. We went home with a 1/2 peck of apples, a package of cider donuts, a 1/2 gallon of apple cider, and caramel dip for the apples. And yes, those cider donuts are gone. SO DELISH.

Now when one has a 1/2 peck of apples, what does she do with them? She bakes treats.  So post-church on Sunday, I slipped on my apron, got my Betty Crocker on, and whipped up some apple cobbler.  It's a wonder I haven't turned into an apple yet, right?

In non-apple related news, I also watched A LOT of football, did some cleaning, had an impromptu dance party by myself when this song came on (because it's the BEST to dance to), and swapped out the summer clothes in my closet for winter clothes.

I'm linking up with these pretty ladies for The Weekend Update!

Have a great Monday!

Blogging 101: TURN OFF Your Captcha

This is one that I'm fairly certain drives every blogger bananas. When commenting on another person's blog, I don't want to have to decipher a code to do so. The truth is that most of us are not, in fact, robots, so we don't want to have to prove it over and over again. It's especially annoying because the codes are becoming increasingly difficult to read, and therefore, easier to fail even if you're not a robot. In case you don't know what a captcha is, allow me to enlighten you. This, my friends, is the ugly captcha.

For realz. What does this say?

Look familiar? Probably if you've commented on a blog in the past week. And once again, if no one tells you that you have this little pest on your blog, you're probably not going to find out about it. I mean, it drove me crazy for a while and I had it on my blog and didn't even know it. So, unless you're absolutely certain that you don't have your captcha activated, PLEASE {insert me begging on my hands and knees} perform the following steps.

1. On your Blogger dashboard, click on "Settings".

2.  Under the options that appear under "Settings", click on "Posts and Comments".

3. Scroll down to "Show Word Verification", and make sure it says "No". If it says "Yes", switch it to "No".

4. Click on "Save Settings" in the upper right corner of your screen.

5. Voila! You did it!

And for the more visual people, here's a screen shot.

I did run into a problem with spam a while back, so if that's an issue for you, my best advice is to not allow anonymous comments.  That usually takes care of most of it.  You can do that two sections above in the "Who can comment?" section. Select "Registered User".

As a side note, captchas made me so angry a couple of months ago that I actually started tweeting pictures of the more horrible captchas I came across with the hahstag #bloggersagainstcaptcha. Feel free to join the movement, and let's rid the blogsphere of CAPTCHAS!

Thank You! || The Wild West

First of all, I wanted to thank you all.  I was a little bit nervous about putting myself out there with the free photo sessions.  I'm happy to say, though that I had 12 throughout the month of September!! (Two had to be rescheduled so they're technically in October, but still :)  It has really been so beneficial for me, so thank you to all of you who helped to spread the word. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guest posted over on Allison's blog earlier this week. Just in case you didn't get to see it, I wanted to share this fun outfit with you all! Allison was out west in Montana for a wedding, so I put together a fun little ensemble that would be fun for a vacay out that way.
I know a denim vest seems a little retro, but they're making a comeback people. Trust me on this one. It's a perfect item for layering and it also has a little western flair. So in my opinion, it's a pretty good match for Fall in Montana, no?  Would you rock a denim vest or is out of your comfort zone?

Engaged: Nick & Jordan

These two were so much fun, and it was so exciting to cover new territory in the Seaport and the North End! We even got a little crazy and hopped on the unattended carousel for a few shots.  There's a sneak peek below, but as always, there's more to see on my Facebook page.
