Monday Pick Me Ups

Happy Monday, my lovelies! How was everyone's weekend? Mine involved a lot of relaxing, a little bit of packing, and little bit of cooking. Oh. And an Easter morning run. It was sad, you guys. It would be a massive understatement to say I was on the struggle bus. I have a lot of work to do before that half marathon, but at least I know what stands between me and that 13.1 mile finish line in 6 months. (a LOT of training)

Well, I probably haven't brightened up your morning at all thus far, so let me throw some happiness your way!

I do not feel this way, but I thought someone out there could probably relate. Just so ya know.

I'm incredibly guilty of the last one. Why do I think my dog is a lion cub named Simba? I wish I knew. Hopefully these little gems put a smile on your face so that you're ready to take on the week! Have a good one :)

These are great! Training for a marathon (be it a full one or a half one) is a CHALLENGE! But so long as you put in the time and the mileage on those sneakers, you'll be crossing that finish line without a hitch! YOU CAN DO IT! :) xo, Megs

p.s. - I too would rather enter the Hunger Games than make an appearance in the office haha

HAHAHA! I love all of those posters! The Hunger Games was too funny! As far as the marathon goes, don't get discouraged!!!! Typically a half marathon training requires 12 weeks (3 months) of training so you have double the time to work on it! The best thing for me is find the BEST music and awesome running trails! It keeps me motivated!!! PLUS for some people it's nice to have a running partner to keep you going! I ran alone a lot, but I had some runs with partners and it made the time go by faster and it held me accountable to keep on trucking even if I was tired!!! Too bad you aren't close I'd run with you!!!

ha ha ha that last picture is HAL-ERIOUS! My friend had a picture of his baby girl like that and all I can think of is Simbaaa!! Good luck with your half marathon. I definitely agree - good music always helps. I just downloaded a whole bunch of new songs for the gym- if you want my playlist let me know! x

Thank you for the advice! I'm very happy to hear that i have double the amount of time to work on it, because I think I'm going to need it :)

I would LOVE your playlist! I usually just listen to a Pandora station which can be hit or miss!

Ha I hear ya on the half marathon! I have been training on and off for one and when I'm not actually hitting the pavement, I think it's the best idea ever and totally feasible... and then I hit 4 miles and I think I may toss my cooks and decided maybe a 5k is more my thing! Hang in there :) It will be gratifying when we get there.... right??
