Midwest Tornadoes: How You Can Help

Hello, and happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready for the week ahead. Not to be a debbie downer, but today I wanted to bring awareness to the tornadoes that hit Harrisburg, IL and Henryville, IN. The midwest can be a dangerous place to live during tornado season, and unfortunately the small towns of Henryville and Harrisburg were transformed into disaster zones upon being hit last week. I feel fortunate that none of my family or friends back at home were affected, but lives were lost because of this and my thoughts and prayers go out to those families.

Today, I would like to encourage each of you to do what you can to help out in the wake of this disaster.  If you're like me and cannot physically be there to contribute to the relief efforts, you can help out by simply sending a text message.  By texting REDCROSS to 90999, you can make a $10 donation to the effort.  I just did it this morning, and it really is that simple.  Think about it. Maybe $10 is one lunch you will have to pack this week instead of eating out. Maybe it's a couple of Starbucks cappuccinos you will have to sacrifice. Maybe it's foregoing a manicure.  Whatever it may be, your sacrifice will be greatly appreciated by those who were affected by these tornadoes.

Feel free to comment and share other ways that you can help out with the relief efforts.  I know this is just one of many, so any additional information you can provide would be great.  Sorry to start off your week on a dull note, but I promise there will be cheerier posts this week! I just thought that this deserved some attention.  I hope you all have a great Monday!
