My New Year's resolution this year was to run a half marathon. Am I crazy? Possibly. Seeing as though we are more than halfway through March and my body has yet to encounter a treadmill in 2012, I think yes, maybe I am crazy. I also think it's DEFINITELY time to start training. Just as a cute new outfit might motivate one to go out on a Friday night, having some fun new workout gear just might motivate me to get reanquainted with the treadmill and/or a sidewalk. I don't need anything over the top. Nothing irks me more than the girl at the gym with full make-up on, long hair DOWN, and skin tight clothes on. Believe me, girlfriend. We all know why you're at the gym, and it's certainly not to work out. (rant end) Something cute and comfortable should do it. I love yoga pants, but finding a pair long enough for my 5'10" body has always proven to be a challenge. Sure, lucy activewear and lululemon athletica carry yoga pants in lengths. But, guess who has two thumbs and doesn't want to spend close to $100 on yoga pants? This girl. So, I stick to capris or shorts. Here's what I would like to "yog" (jog) around in in preparation for the B.A.A. Half Marathon in October:
The capris, tanks, and headbands are all from Victoria's Secret. The shoes aren't the most fashionable find, but my calves and knees will wreak havoc on me if I don't have a good pair of running shoes. Also, I swear by Camelback water bottles. My biggest complaint with nalgenes is that they leak, and this one doesn't! I love it! And of course, we can't forget the sunscreen :) Does anyone else have an upcoming fitness event to prepare for?
