Empire State of Mind

Tomorrow I'm heading to NYC for the weekend. This is only my second trip EVER to the Big Apple, so I'm pretty excited! I have visions of the streets of New York dancing in my head...

"New York is to the nation what the white church spire is to the village - the visible symbol of aspiration and faith. The white plume saying the way is up." - E.B. White

What are some of your favorite things to do in NYC?

I need to visit NYC so badly. Even though I have never been there, I feel like I belong.

the city is quite possibly one of my favorite places in the entire world. i live right outside the city but since my dad works there, i know it like the back of my hand! I would have to say you should check on the Met, since it is my all time favorite museum and they have a great exhibition on Gertrude Stein's private art collection. A couple blocks down is my fave Italian eatery, Via Quadronno on E73rd btwn 5th & Madison. If you're in midtown and need a good place to eat, a fave is our friends pub Langan's (47th between 6th and Broadway) - delicious food and great live music at night. Also, in the garmet district (possibly one of my fave areas) there's a plethora of great shops, but a beauty is Tinsel Trading (37th between 5th & 6th) and I also LOVE Kate's Paperie (Broome street btwn 5th & Crosby) in SoHo.. Have SO much fun!!

I'm a little jealous of your trip to NYC. I used to live right outside the city and I spent every weekend there. I miss it so much!
